Message Recap
Some of the greatest heroes are the people who call out the broken parts of us and walk us through the process of restoration and healing. This week we take a look at the story of Nathan and David, learning what it means to “restore a brother or sister gently.” If we sense God inviting us to courageously stand in the gap and walk the hard journey of healing with someone else:
- Determine if God is sending you.
- Be strategic.
- Be committed to the entire restoration.
Discussion Questions
- Read 2 Samuel 12:1–14. Have you ever confronted someone about their behavior? How did you prepare? How did they receive it? What would you do differently?
- Reread 2 Samuel 12:1. How can we know that God is sending us into a particular conversation? How might that awareness change the way we proceed?
- Read Galatians 6:1–2, James 5:19–20, and Proverbs 27:6. What are some godly ways to prepare for a restoration conversation?
- How did Dave’s message connect with your current experiences or with what God has been teaching you?
- Take turns sharing one takeaway from Scripture and Dave’s message. Then, take time to pray for each other.
-
Live it Out
- What is one “a-ha” you will take from the weekend message and our discussion? How can you practically apply it to your life? If it involves a potential restoration conversation, spend time in prayer, and consider inviting a trusted friend to pray with you as you prepare.
- How would next week be different if you applied your learning from this week’s message?
- Is there another way God is calling you to live out the message this week?
