The first five books of the Bible are often referred to as “the Law” (or Torah). On the surface, it looks like a bunch of rules. But when you dig in, you discover how radically different the love of God is for His people. Let’s learn how to apply this scripture to our lives while looking to Jesus, the One who fulfilled them all.

How do you typically view the first five books of the Bible, and how has this perspective evolved after considering their deeper significance? What is your understanding of WHY God gave these books of the Bible?
Reflect on the idea of the Law as a "gift of grace" to set God's people apart. How does this perspective influence your gratitude towards God? How hard is it for you to see rules as a gift?
In what ways do you think the stories and laws in the Pentateuch are relevant to your life today, even though they were written for a different time and culture?
How do you think the Pentateuch shapes our understanding of community and relationships with others, both within and outside of the faith?
In what ways can your group integrate the teachings and values found in the Pentateuch into your personal spiritual practices and community involvement?
